Vi Lipscombe

Summary

With no experience or background in art, I enrolled with Jenny Young in the late 1980's.  Jenny suggested I ‘never allow anyone to change my style’.  For better or worse I have followed her advice.

In 1990 I enrolled at Elizabeth Street College and completed First Year of Level Three Art with David Keeling.  However, it was another 15 years before I began again.

In 2006 I enrolled in classes with Terry Gough at The Colour Circle Inc. at Mount Nelson.  I attended sporadically over 5 years.   Terry taught mixed media and this remains my preferred style.

In addition, various tutors including Jennifer Marshall, Donna Lougher and Barbara Whitehouse have influenced me.

I no longer attend classes, preferring to create on my own with acrylic and texture.  Most of my work is abstract, innovative and original.  Writing and painting, relaxes and gives me pleasure.

Weaving story with paint and texture has given me the tools I need to have a unique voice and make a difference.
